New effort will support secure data integration, resilient networking and real-time command-and-control capabilities for modern battlefield operations
L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has been selected to develop key features of the secure and resilient digital infrastructure supporting the U.S. Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System network.
The effort is designed to strengthen ABMS data integration and networking capabilities, helping combine information from multiple sources and deliver a real-time, comprehensive view of the battlefield to military operators.
The Advanced Battle Management System is a key component of the broader Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control strategy, which aims to improve the way U.S. military services share data, coordinate operations and connect decision-makers across space, air, land, sea and cyber domains.
“This new digital infrastructure will provide the warfighter with more secure, timely and usable information, allowing them to connect sensors and shooters across domains in complex operational environments,” said Kathy Crandall, president of Mission Networks, Space & Mission Systems at L3Harris. “We will build on L3Harris’ legacy of developing and operating large-scale communications networks to meet the demands of modern military operations.”
L3Harris will apply modern data processing and networking technologies to support the development of the ABMS digital infrastructure. The company’s work will focus on enhancing secure communications, resilient network performance and battlefield data availability for mission-critical command-and-control operations.
